What is the JMP PTO?
•
A non-profit organization comprised of
parents and teachers at JMP
•
The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
coordinates many of the enrichment programs,
raises funds for supplemental educational materials and experiences and
supports school
and social interaction.
What do we do?
Coordinate educational experiences as the Summer Reading Program.
We provide funding for student-centered activities, such as class trips, Field Day,
Pumpkin Patch, and assemblies.
We provide gifts to school such as supplemental classroom books and games, recess
equipment, Welcome Packet planners/folders and other school equipment.
We bring the JMP community together with our school evening family events such as
Family Social, Bingo Night, Movie night, Restaurant nights and Theatre week.
We help to promote cultural awareness through our Diwali, Lunar New Year,
Thanksgiving Feast events and assemblies.
We provide opportunities for the students to learn about purchasing products and
giving to others such as Book Fair, Holiday Boutique, Plant Sale.
We coordinate Teacher Appreciation week to recognize the dedication of our teachers
and staff.
Why volunteer?
Top reasons for volunteering:
•
The smiles and excitement on our children's faces when
they see us in school.
•
To learn more about what happens in school and in the
classroom during the day.
•
Because we care about our children's education and want
to help improve their
education.
•
To meet and socialize with other parents and to meet
your children's friends.
•
To find out more about our children's teachers and how
they teach and interact with our
children.
•
Because we believe in volunteering in the community and
the PTO is a great way to
volunteer and have fun!
